Dr. Usha Mujoo Munshi, President of the Information and Communication Society of India and a Fulbright Scholar, has made significant contributions to digital libraries and the Open Access movement. She has worked with prestigious organizations like CSIR-NIScPR, Indian National Science Academy, Indian Statistical Institute, and is currently with India International Centre (IIC), New Delhi. With over 165 research publications and several books, her work includes "Multimedia Information Extraction and Digital Heritage Preservation" (World Scientific, Singapore) and "Data Science Landscape: Towards Research Standards and Protocols" (Springer). Recipient of several national and international awards, including the ASSIST International Best Paper Award, USA,  Dr. Munshi obtained post of DEA (directeur d` etudes associe), an academic recognition given to her by Fondation Maison des sciences de l`homme, Paris, (France) and she is the first one to receive this recognition in the area of Information Science and Technology.

She is on the editorial boards of several journals, including the Data Science Journal, (DSJ), ICSU-CODATA, Paris, France and the Chief Editor of the Journal of Data Science and Research (JDSR), USA. She is reviewer for VINE: The Journal of Information and Knowledge Management Systems since 2014 and is on the editorial boards of eight other peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Munshi is a member of numerous national and international committees, including the Steering Committee of IAP (Inter Academy Panel), USA and the Taskforce on Digital Resources at the US National Academy of Sciences. She co-chaired the Steering Committee of the National Digital Preservation Programme (NDPP), GoI, and serves on the international Data Policy Committee by ICSU-CODATA, Paris. She is part of the Task Groups on Data at Risk (TG-DAR) and Data Citations (TG-DC) of ICSU-CODATA and Research Data Alliance (RDA). Additionally, she is a Governing Board Member of the Rampur Raza Library, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and a Member of the National CODATA Committee by INSA. She is on the Project Advisory Committee (PAC) of the National Science and Technology Management Information System (NSTMIS) programme of DST since 2022 and the Expert Committee for the establishment of IPR Chairs under SPRIHA. She is a co-opted member of the Society of the Indian Institute of Heritage and the Board of Studies, Kashmir Adhyan Centre, HP, Central University. Widely travelled, Dr. Munshi has delivered over 260 lectures as part of her professional and societal activities. She continues to influence the fields of information science and technology through her extensive research, publications, and professional engagements.
